Zentangle

Have been slightly addicted to Pinterest these days - between the interesting ideas to use in my classroom come fall to the great fitness tips, art, and clothing...and of course the food ideas! One art idea that keeps popping up under the PIN of education is that of Zentangle - a really fun art activity for any age. For my 7 and 5 year old daughters, I divided a large paper into sections and we went at it. It was great for creativity and spending some time together. It is not done, we've been back and forth to it throughout the day and will continue with it throughout the week. My sister had a great idea for this, she said to use fabric and fabric markers then edge it and voila: homemade throw. Here's the piece we began today:

ISAGENIX FOR KIDS?

Kids need healthy eating too! We all know they share food at school, sneak treats, buy sugar loaded drinks and snacks now and then, so its even more important to encourage they get what their body needs. Can kids use Isagenix? Certain products, yes!  http://www.isagenixhealth.net/blog/2011/08/20/yes-isagenix-can-help-kids-stay-slim/

Our own kids (ages 7 and 5) eat IsaLean Bars almost daily (one half eat), IsaLean Shakes (about a quarter of a shake), honey-almond FibreSnack Bars, and SlimCakes. They drink orange Energenix whenever they can.

ISAGENIX AND KIDS

    Kids can experience:
  • Overall health
  • More well days
  • More mental focus and clarity
  • Stronger bones and teeth
  • Healthy eyes
My family has two main places for grocery shopping: the local Farmers' Market and Isagenix. Our girls are 6 and 4 years old and they eat a lot of the Isagenix products too. They don't have the same quantity of shakes and bars, but they do LOVE the bars, and our 4 year old often has a shake.  They use the IsaKids essentials (multi-vitamin) and drink Want More Energy mixed with IsaFruits, just like we do. The SlimCakes tide them over, and our 4 year old is always asking for the Snacks (which to be honest, is not MY favourite thing to eat, but it does satisfy hunger greatly!).

PAY YOUR LOCAL FARMER OR THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM

I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to understand when I see young kids drinking pop, or as a classroom teacher, some of the lunches and snacks with which kids arrive at school.  I understand that there are monetary issues for some of these cases, but buying a whole organic chicken is not more expensive than buying a week's worth of Lunchables.  I love when films like this are made. I think everyone needs to watch it. We have an epidemic; not just in the States either. Choose organic, choose local.  Your thoughts?
