2011 DETROIT FREE PRESS HALF MARATHON

My sister ran the half two years ago; last year I wanted to run it, she ran it with me; this year, my mom (at age 63) wanted to run it, my sister and I ran it with her! Who's with us for next year?!

In high school and university, I swam competitively.  Prior to running the half last year, I never thought that running 21 K (13.1 mi) was even possible. I have always ran here and there, but never, never, never distances even close to a half. What an experience!  I no longer live in Windsor, ON, but was born and raised there, so to run over the Ambassador Bridge and through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel has been phenomenal!

If ever you have considered running a 5 K, 10 K, half, or full, I strongly encourage the journey!
